9129437Have you ever heard of the Neighborhood Initiative? It may sound new, yet it really isn’t. In fact, it’s a command from Jesus. He told us to love our neighbor as ourselves.

Christopher 164: I Shall Review . . . Lynn Cory’s Neighborhood Initiative and the Love of God
And there are people out there putting this into practice. By getting to know people and building relationships, this is great way to share the good news of Jesus to others.

But why is this so important? Well, simply put, because God loved us and cared for us. And so we should be passing on that love to others. God showed how much he cared for us. And we should do the same for others. Through this Initiative, we show others care and love, and we can help and pray for them. By not being “normal,” we can show the love of Jesus within us.

You should remember that this is not a program, it is a work of God that he has commissioned us with. We should make it a commitment in our lives.

A few things that may hinder our work are a busy schedule, not working with other churches, and fear. But if you can think of the good that can come out of it all, then you can put all those aside to reap a harvest of many! For if the church goes out to work in their neighborhoods, then they are able to run out the darkness. We shouldn’t just stay at church and have fun with our friends. So we should go into the world to preach the good news. And that starts in our neighborhood, if we choose to accept this mission.

Everyone, this is such a great book. Every Christian should read this. It’s not that long, only over a hundred pages.

You teens (but I’m not excluding adults), if you want to “do hard things,” then you can “start here.” I really think this a great place to start. You are working for God and helping others at the same time. You are also able to build up friendships and develop trust. So I encourage you all to read this book.

Hopefully what I was talking about inspired you to buy this book and to minister unto others. It’s a great way to build up trust and show God love to many others.
